After completing 12th in 2014, Shubham Kumar qualified for the IIT exam and starts pursuing Btech from IIT BOMBAY, after graduation he started preparing for the UPSC civil service examination. In 2108 Shubham gave his first attempt in UPSC but he could not get anything in that attempt. In 2019, Shubham again attempted the second attempt, in which he got 290th rank and was placed in the Indian Defense Accounts service. Even after this, Shubham gave 3rd attempt at UPSC, and in that he created history by bringing All India Rank 1.

Q1: Tell us something about your journey of preparation for the UPSC Civil Services Exam?
replied_:>
“After I completed my graduation in 2018, in the same year I appeared for the UPSC Prelims Exam and it was an unsuccessful attempt. The long 3 years of the journey were not so easy and I faced huge ups and downs. I also felt low many times but fortunately, I had support from my family which motivated me to prepare again for the exam and finally i achieved the target .”
Q2: We asked what was the reaction of your family and friends after seeing your UPSC 2020 Result?
replied_:>
“I was very happy, and I was not able to believe that I topped the examination. When I informed my father about the result, at first instance, he didn’t believe it. I told him repeatedly for several times that I’ve cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam and secured AIR 1. My father and everyone also went a little emotional and everyone was very happy.”
Q3: We asked him what is your future aim from now as a civil servant?
replied_:>
“In the future, My preference is to serve the people of Bihar but also welcome the decision of the commission. Iwould not mind getting posted anywhere as his only aim is to make society a better place to live”.
