Peyush Bansal did his early schooling from Don Bosco High School in Delhi and for further studies, he joined McGill University in Canada and completed his graduation in Electrical Engineering | Bansal also holds a post graduation degree from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM, Bangalore) Bangalore.

Career of Peyush Bansal:-

After the completion of his college, Piyush did his first job in the US in 2007 as a Program Manager in Microsoft. After working for a year in America, Piyush wanted to do something big in his country, so he came back to India. Bansal then went on to find a range of Indian companies including John Jacobs, Aqualens and Lenskart.com, under which he founded the Lenskart Vision Fund, Lenskart Plus, all of which focus on glasses and lenses.

During his time at IIM, he founded Valyoo Technologies, which introduced SearchMyCampus as the first business portal in 2007. It was a student classifieds platform which included Accommodation, Books, Parttime Jobs, Carpooling and Enternship opportunities apart from accommodation. His motive was to help the students in any problem they had.

Launch of Lenskart:-

In 2010, Peyush Bansal, Amit Chaudhary and Sumeet Kapahi opened an online portal called Lenskart, which initially used to sell only Lenses, gradually they started selling Eyewear and Sunglasses as well.

Earlier they used to sell online web and apps then also started Lenskart’s Frenchie. Lenskart became a Unicorn in 2019 (Unicorn includes companies whose valuation is 1 billion dollars or more) Now Lenskart is a billion dollar company. At present more than 5000 people are working in this company, they have more than 600 retail stores all over India.
