Ananthapuram’s 49th division of AMC was no exception until Anil Kumar Ananthapuram took it upon himself to transform a street in the area into a 600 sq ft wall art by the youth and installation of solar lights and cast iron benches brought from Jaipur.

What started as a small project with a few local youth soon turned into a movement that has transformed the streets of Ananthapuram. Anil Kumar Ananthapuram has been the driving force behind this transformation. He has been successful in bringing together local youth and has involved them in beautifying the streets.

The transformation of the street in the 49th division of AMC was just the beginning. Anil Kumar Ananthapuram went on to create Andhra Pradesh’s first smart street. The entire street, which is home to 250 families, was transformed with free Wi-Fi, 2800 sq ft of wall art, and cast iron benches for kids and elders and youth to rest.

The transformation has been remarkable, and the street also houses close to 10 water tanks for cows passing by the street and street dogs

He believes that our streets are our responsibility, and he appeals to local residents to donate only their time to come and work on transforming the streets.
