HERE ARE SOME OF THEIR REMARKABLE AND MOST LIKED ALBUMS OF JALRAJ:
The most popular song performed by JALRAJ is “Sunn Zara”. This album is released by Indie Music Label in October 2020. It is the most liked music video of JalRaj. Their Prequel version of ‘Zara Zara Bahekta Hai’ gained behemoth success. It is still growing on YouTube with 1.2 million likes.
During our interview with JalRaj, we have addressed several questions about them, their life, and of course upcoming projects.
1. What made you want to become a musician? And what music means to you?
We did not want to be musicians, to be honest. Music has always been our passion. Never had this thing crossed our minds that someday we’ll opt for this as a career. Music is still our top priority though and it will always be. It means everything to us.
2. How music came into your life?
Music happened accidentally. A fractured leg brought us into the field of music. Rajat had his leg fractured in the year 2010 and obviously had to bed rest for about a month or so. That was it. To overcome the boredom, we started learning guitar from YouTube and that’s how it all began.
3. Tell us about your childhood, family, and early life. And How was your life before coming into the limelight?
Well, we basically belong to Ghaziabad but have never lived there. There are 4 members in our family, our Mom, Dad, and we both. We have lived in various states like Maharashtra, J&K, MP, HP and many more, due to our father’s job. Had a pretty normal childhood like everybody else. There was nothing so special yet everything seemed like a heaven back then.
4. What strength do you have that you believe makes you a great musician and accelerated your growth? Do you have any weaknesses that you are working upon?
In terms of strength, we believe our loyalty to music, work discipline, and patience has been the key. Speaking about weakness, there is a lot more to learn. There’s a saying, never reveal your weakness to the world, so can’t tell, let it be a secret (wink). There is still a long way to go, let’s keep it that way.
5. Is there any other hobbies and interests outside the music?
Not really. Apart from music, we like doing nothing. Spending a lazy day is all we crave for.
6. What motivates you the most? Are there any musicians who inspire you? What qualities do you admire about them? And If you get to collaborate with any musician then whom would you pick?
People’s love is what motivates us the most. People have been so kind towards us and our music until now, it’s surreal. There are a lot many musicians who inspire us. In fact, we listen to everyone but picking 1 out of 100s won’t be fair. Speaking about the collaboration, yes we are always up for a collaboration. As long as there’s good music, we are always available. There are many but to pick 1 would be Arijit Singh.
7. What’s your process for dealing with performance anxiety? Also with criticism and negativities?
There’s no better process or a “funda” to deal with the negativity other than ignoring it. See, every gets anxious on how the song would go, whether people would love it, how is everything gonna go and all that, even we get all this thoughts, that’s Normal and everybody learns with time. What we do is, we calm each other down, talk a lot and talk about positives only. Other than that, We ignore all the negative criticism.
8. what accomplishment do you see yourself achieving in the next five to ten years?
Oh come on! We do not think that much. 10 years is a long time. But yes, we would be doing music only, that’s for sure.
9. What’s the best piece of advice that you will give to others struggling musicians?
Always work hard, always be patient, always be loyal to what you do, always be consistent and always be kind. The struggles will always be there. Ups and downs will always be there, no matter if you are new in this field or a professional. Just be focused and follow these 5 things.
10. What is one message you would give to your fans?
We owe everything to our fans. There is not even a single day when we do not think of you guys. “Fans hain to hum hain, varna kuch nahi”.
11. When will be your new album be released?
As of now, we are only focused on singles and the new one shall be released soon. Probably in the first week of October.
