1. INTRODUCTION

DJ XCSTACY

DJ Rishihas his roots in Bengal as his parents are BENGALI, but he was born and brought up in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. His father, Mr. Prosenjit Aikat is an engineer and his mother Mrs. Piu Aikat is a teacher. After completing his matriculation from LITTLE FLOWER SCHOOL, JAMSHEDPUR, He did his 12th from open schooling. Currently, he is doing him graduating with B.TECH (CS) from AMITY UNIVERSITY, DELHI. Currently He is in uttarakhand.

2. MUSICAL ROOTS

Mr.Rishistarted his musical journey when he was just three . “When you have Bengali roots, music is in genes.Your home is always equipped with atleast few musical instruments”, says Rishi whose mother is also a classical singer and he got the inspiration from her.He started learning KEYBOARD/CASIO when he was in class three and did his master’s in this course after learning continuously for a long period of thirteen years.He considers music as his lifeline because whenever he feels low in life, music is the only thing that gives him relief.He got his initial motivation from his mother who gifted him a small keyboard and challenged him to do better with that in order to get the bigger one.These incidents helped him realise his own talent and potential.
Along with his mother he mentions the name of BEETHOVEN as his inspiration and says, ” I admire BEETHOVEN very much. I feel awe whenever I listen to him.”

When asked about his GURU(teacher) he said that he is the student of Mr. Rohi sir, who taught him keyboard from scratch.He expressed his heartfelt gratitude through these lines ,” If i am into the music, it is because of him.I can never express what i feel for him.I am here as an artist just because his lessons”.

He also mentioned the special impact of DJ SNAKE in his life.He gives the credit of his interest towards DJ as career to DJ SNAKE.He mentioned that he is motivated by Dj snake’s life story and his music is the source of energy for him .

3. JOURNEY TILL NOW

His musical journey started when he was in class 9th and got his first kick in a club of Jamshedpur known by name THE DUGOUT .He started working there and got the initial exposure .He also learnt the basics of this profession. Although he mentions that his family were sometimes very unsure about such a young kid staying outside in lounge and giving performance throughout the night, but they always understood him and supported him throughout the journey.

After his first kick ,he never looked back. He mentions the special role of his elder sister Miss Rishika Aikat in giving him right advice at right time.She even fought with her parents at few points to allow Rishi for certain matters which was very crucial for his career. She was the one who motivated him to go to Delhi in order get better opportunities. Shifting to Delhi certainly blessed him with many big opportunities.Few of the famous Five star places where he has worked are :

Apart from this he also keeps organising his own shows out of Delhi .He is putting all these extra efforts to get more exposure and make a fame among public . “My recent shows in cities like Indore ,Pune etc has blessed me with wider audience and also it has helped me a lot financially.” says Mr. Aikat.

4.ACHIVEMENTS

His list of achievement is actually very long because right from the very young age he started participating in various competitions at school level, National level and many other competitions.When he was just in class 4th he used to compete with his seniors who were in higher classes like 8th and over that.Still he managed to clinch the first position at many position.

‘Age and facilities cannot define your talent.It is something which is inside you and no one can snatch that away from you”, said Mr.Aikat with a very positive gesture.

With the right strategy, right collaboration,right people and right channelisation of his energy he is getting 30+ shows in a month now a days. But looking at his at talent this number seems nothing.He aspires to make his own group of DJs’ who will not only work in India but also promote Indian music at international level.

Currently he is working with SUNBURN ARENA, Delhi which is a very famous name in India. He got this opportunity through a cut throat competition held by them.He came out as one of the winner and got the opportunity to work with highly talented people.

5. PROFESSION AND EDUCATION BALANCE

Following your passion while not forgetting the necessity of education is one of the biggest strength of Mr.Rishi. While asked about work ,life and education balance he said,” I am just 19 and people sometimes think that i am earning a lot, enjoying my life a lot.But this not very true.In order to pursue my passion i am sacrificing my sleeps.My routine starts much earlier than many college going students.I attend my college in the day time and my work place in the night time. In order to create balance between them i can’t think of wasting even a second .”

He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude for his friends who are having his back in the college and giving him the chances to fly.

Apart from this he said that discipline and self motivation is the biggest strength to cope up with hectic life.His passion gives him the strength to cross through all adversities.

6.OTHER HOBBIES

Apart from Music ,he is very much into fitness.He said ” Working on fitness is a form of self love for me.If I love music ,i must keep myself fit for multiple performances . Fitness is the key to reach at peak.If you aren’t careful of your health , you can’t go to chase any dream.You have to take care of your health in order to work for your dreams”.

7. FUTURE INSIGHTS

When asked about future goals he said that he wanted to preserve the rich Indian music and in future he wants to inspire other Indian DJS’ through his work to have their own version of music which will have the Indian elements like sitar,Tabla , harmonium etc and not copy any international people.
He wants to create music with which people can connect emotionally .He said India is known for knowledge ,truth and love and we must not lose our authenticity.We must express that in our music too.

Apart from playing Keyboard he also plays Tabla .He is also a very well music producer and in future he wants to create his own genre and since he has a beautiful voice he has won many awards in the past too.

Currently he is working on few projects with international artists and these projects have very important place in his life.He specially mentioned the name of his upcoming project : XCSTACY : KRISHNA song, in which he has put a lot of efforts.

Atlast he added his favourite quotation ,”Money will come and go but your character and talent will stay with you.If you have strong character and great talent, money will follow you”. He also wants to leave a message for young generation ,” RISE AND FALL BUT NEVER STOP. Be mad for your work and not just work.Do the things passionately and don’t leave any stones unturned.”
